VARIOUS TIMES
• Every month, Sodexo Dietary Services and the ManorCare Jersey Shore employees collect a food item for the local soup kitchen, run through the Jersey Shore Ministerium. Items are collected every Friday. September is tomato soup and October is Rice-A-Roni. Anyone interested in making a donation, can take them to ManorCare Jersey Shore, 1008 Thompson St. Jersey Shore.
• A ServSafe food safety program for managers course will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 18 and from 8:30 a.m. to noon Sept. 25 at Penn State Extension Lycoming County, 542 County Farm Road, Suite 206, Montoursville.
The course is for anyone who needs to meet the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture requirements for food safety certification. The Sept. 25 class will be part two of class and the exam).

• LEWISBURG -- The Hospice of Evangelical, 235 Hospital Drive, will hold the six-week education bereave group, "Life After Loss," from 1-3 p.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 20 to Oct. 25.
The program helps participants learn coping techniques to deal with grief and loss. Anyone 18 or old who has experienced the loss of a loved one is invited to attend. The program is most effective for those living with loss for six months or more.
There is a cost for the class, and scholarships are available. Registration is required by Friday.

• The Konkle Memorial Library, 384 Broad St., Montoursville, is accepting donations of gently used purses, backpacks, tote bags and costume jewelry until Sept. 18. All proceeds will be used to buy books and materials for the library.

• The Clinton County Women's Center is looking for people to complete a free, 65-hour training to become a volunteer counselor/advocate. The training is scheduled to start the end of September.

• JERSEY SHORE -- The New Love Center Food Pantry, 229 S. Broad St., will host an open house at 2 p.m. Sept. 10. The New Love Center is a 501c3 non-profit organization that feeds more than 400 families a month. Attendees are invited to bring along a can of tomato soup to the open house and clean plastic bags.

• HUGHESVILLE -- The Hughesville Area Public Library, 146 S. Fifth St., will hold Wee Tales for children ages 1-3 and their parents or caregivers from 10:30-11:15 a.m. Sing along with Miss Victoria and her puppet, Daisy the Dog.

• LEWISBURG -- The Public Library for Union County, 255 Reitz Blvd., will hold knitting at 10:30 a.m.
The library also will hold Start Where You Are Self-Sufficiency: Foraging Basics from 6-8 p.m. This six-week series brings together individuals who are interested in working toward self-sufficiency in areas such as food, shelter, clothing, energy, health and entertainment.

• MIFFLINBURG -- The Herr Memorial Library, 500 Market St., will hold a teen advisory board meeting from 4-5:30 p.m.
This meeting is for teens in sixth through 12th grade who are interested in planning events and parties, volunteering and helping their community. Snacks will be provided.
The library also will hold a grown up game night from 6-7:30 p.m. For teens sixth through 12th grade who want to play board games. Attendees may bring their own game, but it is not required.

• The West Branch Human Resource Society will host Jumping to Conclusions from 8-10 a.m. at the Williamsport Country Club, 800 Country Club Drive. • The Old Lycoming Township Volunteer Fire Co. and Safe Kids Lycoming County will hold a child safety seat check and safety seat bounty from 4-6 p.m. at 1600 Dewey Ave. Attendees should bring their child, child safety seat instructions and vehicle's owner's manual. Each safety seat will take approximately 20 minutes to inspect and infants seats may take longer.
• LOCK HAVEN -- The Annie Halenbake Ross Library, 232 W Main St., is recruiting teens between the ages of 13-18 for Teen Paranormal, the paranormal investigating club. Staff member Lou Bernard teaches the members how to investigate paranormal incidents.
The first meeting of the year will be at 7 p.m. Sept. 14.
