A Philadelphia man was found guilty on three drug charges following a jury trial last week in Lycoming County Court.
Hakim Hopkins, 38, was found guilty of a felony count of possession with the intent to deliver and multiple counts of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, District Attorney Eric R. Linhardt announced.
In April of 2012, South Williamsport police encountered Hopkins at the Days Inn while conducting a welfare check.
A flat-screen TV in the back of Hopkins' vehicle matched the description of a TV recently stolen in a home invasion in Williamsport.
The vehicle matched the description of the suspect vehicle in the home invasion and Hopkins' unique face tattoo matched one of the suspects.
The police obtained consent to search the vehicle and found crack cocaine and two loaded firearms. Hopkins had over $2,500 cash on him.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Martin Wade who noted that the gun charges in the case will be tried separately.
Hopkins, who has four previous drug convictions from Philadelphia and Delaware counties, will be sentenced on a later date.
He remains free on bail.
