The first Williamsport strEAT Food Festival is about to take place outside the Bayard Printing building, 1 Maynard St., said Jessie Novinger, city recreation director.
The event is from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. May 6, she said before the start of the city recreation commission meeting Monday.
"This amazing event celebrates the food truck phenomenon sweeping the nation," she said.
It features talented chiefs who operate food trucks, carts and trailers, she said.
"We're looking forward to a successful first event and hope that it can grow from year to year," Novinger said.
Also, the event will feature a brewers' guild on site to offer samples of home brews from 1 to 5 p.m.
Additional vendors continue to apply for food and non-food space, she said.
The festival will feature live music from The Scott Bird Band, Goodish and the Billtown Giants.

In other business, the commission finalized the pool passes for Splash Cove, with reduced prices this year, and a summer camp application is open. For those interested in summer camp, contact Novinger at the office.
