Construction to begin on Callahan Run bridge

By From Staff Reports 1 min read

Construction for the Route 414 bridge, spanning Callahan Run in McHenry Township, is part of the state Department of Transportation's Rapid Bridge Replacement Project.

Temporary traffic signals will be placed today and will be fully activated on Aug. 16, according to PennDOT. This will bring the bridge traffic down to one lane for an extended period of time.

The replacement of the bridge will remove it from the county's list of structurally deficient bridges.

This bridge is one of the 558 bridges throughout the state being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project.

The Rapid Bridge Replacement Project is a public-private partnership between PennDOT and Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners, under which keystone partners will finance, design, replace and maintain the bridges for 25 years.
