Guilty verdict in homicide trial

It took a jury in Lycoming County part of the day and into the evening Friday to find a man guilty of murder in the first and second degree in a shooting in a Poplar Street residence.

Jordan Adonis Rawls, 27, formerly of the 1000 block of Race Street, was found guilty of shooting Shane Wright, 25, and his mother, Kristine Kibler, 50, on Halloween night 2016.

Jurors returned the verdict of first degree murder, and second degree murder of Wright and Kibler; guilty of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, attempted robbery, and possessing an instrument of crime.

President Judge Nancy L. Butts convicted Rawls of person not to possess or carry a firearm.

The third degree murder charge of Kibler was “not guilty.”

The first degree murder is a life sentence and the second degree murder is life without possibility of parole, said First County Assistant District Attorney Martin Wade.
