The driver of a tractor-trailer who was killed in a crash on Route 287 Monday was identified by authorities.
David E. Corl of Milesburg was traveling north about 2:15 p.m. on the 12,000 block of the highway in Cogan House Township when he suddenly left the west berm, traveled up an embankment striking a telephone pole and then ran into the guiderails where the truck came to rest, state police said.
The deceased had sustained only minor injuries but was deceased upon arrival of fire and emergency medical services personnel due to an apparent fatal cardiac arrhythmia, Lycoming County Coroner Charles E. Kiessling Jr. said.
