Lauson B. Leavitt

Lauson B. “Larry” Leavitt, 71, of Loyalsock Township, died Jan. 4, 2018, in the company of his family.

He was born Sept. 1, 1946, in New York City, the son of Stanley and Helen (Breed) Leavitt.

Larry grew up in New York City, lived on Long Island, and spent many years in New Haven, Conn., teaching both there and in Southbury, Conn. He then moved to Williamsport and became an Associate Professor of Automotive Technology at Penn College where he still worked. He enjoyed time with friends and family, boating, ping pong, racquetball, and attending car shows.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a son, Ryan Michael Leavitt.

Surviving are his wife of 14 years, Linda M. (Mann) Leavitt; daughters, Tamara M. (Robin) Jenkin, of Morgan Hill, Calif., and Tracy C. (Richard) Meyers, of Hebron, Ky.; three sisters, Christine Leavitt Reifel, of Morro Bay, Calif., Constance Leavitt Reifel, of Moreno Valley, Calif. and Rev. Elizabeth Lynn Leavitt, of Watertown, Mass.; and four grandchildren, Sierra, Calliste, Grace, and Ricky.

A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m., Saturday, January 13 at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville.
