William E. ‘Bill’ Curry

William E. "Bill" Curry, 86, formerly of Watsontown, went to be with the Lord, on Monday, Sept. 24, 2018, surrounded by his children, at Carolina Healthcare Systems, Pineville, Charlotte, N.C.

Born May 27, 1932, in Revloc, Cambria Co., he was the son of the late Elmer E. and Ruth E. (Pettigrew) Curry. On May 12, 1958, he married the love of his life, the former Jean E. Mingle and they have celebrated 60 years of marriage.

Bill was a 1950 graduate of Ebensburg-Cambria High School. He received an associate degree from Williamsport Area Community College (WACC). Bill served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955 during the Korean War.

He worked for various trucking companies such as Kepler Brothers Trucking, Milton and Mushroom Trucking, Kennett Square. He also was employed for 25 years and retired from WACC/Pennsylvania College of Technology where he was a diesel mechanic instructor.

Bill was a member of the American Motorcycle Association, the National Rifle Association, the VFW and American Legion, in both Muncy, Pa., and Stuart, Va., and a member of the WTI-WACC-Penn College Alumni Association. He was a 32nd Degree Mason of the Williamsport Scottish Rite. He previously attended White Hall Baptist Church, and currently attended Stuart Presbyterian Church, Stuart VA.

He was a lifelong devoted hunter and reloader, and enjoyed shooting. Bill was an avid and enthusiastic motorcyclist and trike rider. He was a loyal and dedicated husband and father.

Surviving besides his wife, are his son, Mark E. Curry; and his wife Dalon, of Stuart, Va.; two daughters, Michelle J. Wertman and her husband Richard, of Raleigh, N.C., and Melissa Curry-Ranck and her husband Christopher, of Columbus, N.J.; two grandchildren, William Christopher Ranck and Connor Benjamin Ranck; one stepgranddaughter, Brianne Moore and her husband Jeff; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Austin Simpson and his wife Jessica, and Daniel Bollinger.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at Brooks Funeral Home & Cremation Svc., PC, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville, where a celebration of Bill's life will be held at 8 p.m., with Rev. Robert L. Ayars, officiating.
