Marino/Friedenberg?

Tom Marino is a good follower, but not much of a leader. I saw him on television present President Trump with a framed picture of an 80-year-old man and a letter to Mr. Marino explaining how the man had never voted in his life but registered to vote just to vote for Trump. Marino was one of the earliest, and still is one of the most ardent supporters of Donald Trump.

Marino was such an ardent a supporter of Trump that Trump nominated him twice to be the drug czar. The first nomination was withdrawn when it came to Trump’s attention that Marino’s closet contained alleged skeletons.

The second Trump nomination of Marino for the position of drug czar was withdrawn when it was discovered Marino received considerable financial support from the pharmaceutical industry. He and Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee also introduced a bill that would hobble the DEA and the Justice Department by stripping their powers to investigate opioid producers and distributors. Marino then became the point man for the law, signed by President Obama.

Marino voted some 50 times to repeal Obamacare, despite knowing it would deprive Pennsylvanians of the healthcare insurance plans they had chosen.

Marino opposes raising the minimum wage, supports Social Security and Medicare cuts to pay for the Trump tax cuts and opposes gun regulation.

Voters will have a choice between Marino and a newcomer, Mark Friedenberg, who has a law degree from Columbia University and who is an assistant professor at Penn State’s College of Information Sciences and Technology. Friedenberg’s teaching prepares him to play a major role in the prevention of any Russian attempts to intrude in our 2020 elections and he will be no apologist for their intrusion in our 2016 elections. Friedenberg promises to bring high-tech jobs and fast, low-cost broadband Internet to rural Pennsylvania.

He supports a $15 minimum wage and Medicare for all and will oppose attempts to reduce Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. He supports regulations of firearms that do not interfere with hunters’ or individual rights to defend themselves. Be a part of the Blue Tsunami of 2018.
