Eldred Township barn fire quickly extinguished
While the 12:15 p.m. fire Friday was declared under control within 30 minutes, firefighters continued to douse hot spots inside the barn of Steve and Norma Ulmer at 5801 Route 973 East of in Eldred Townnship. This part of the barn was Ulmer's workshop. The fire is a little more than three miles east of Kenneth Snyder's barn at 2525 Route 973 East that burned to the ground on Jan. 27. A skid steer was used to pull this burning farm tractor out of a barn at Steve and Norma Ulmer's farm on Route 973 East in Eldred Township om Friday afternoon. The tractor and other equipment were removed from the burning building. The cause of the fire was under investigation. A state police fire marshal was at the scene, trying to determine what happened.
