Lycoming County no new COVID-19 cases

HARRISBURG - The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed as of 12:00 a.m., June 18, that there are 418 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 80,236. All 67 counties in Pennsylvania have cases of COVID-19. Lycoming County has had 172 positive cases to date, Clinton 65 cases, Sullivan three cases and Tioga 20 cases. There are 6,361 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 42 new deaths. There are 543,832 patients who have tested negative to date statewide. A proposal to help businesses impacted by the coronavirus pandemic drew pushback from people who want to know why Lycoming County commissioners haven’t used money to move residents from a nursing home. South school board OKs no-tax-hike budget

The South Williamsport Area School Board Monday night approved a 2020-21 budget that holds the line on real estate taxes. The $19.5 million spending plan is supported by a tax millage rate of 16.78. Other revenue sources in support of the budget are a 1.1 percent earned income tax and 0.5 percent real transfer tax.
