Mackenzie Lopez and Lexi Beaver each scored twice, and Janae Bergey had two assists and a goal in Milton’s 5-2 win against Mount Carmel.
In boys soccer, Bode Hart scored twice and Todd Modispaw assisted both in Muncy’s 2-0 win against Sullivan County. Eli Slamka had seven saves for the Indians (8-9), as both teams had seven shots on goal.
In men’s soccer, Lycoming was edged by DeSales, 1-0, behind a goal from Larry Agyei in the 25th minute off an assist from Chris Tocchet. Nick Wilke made five saves in net for the Warriors.
Lock Haven defeated Bloomsburg, 3-1. Samuel Hershey headed in a corner kick during the 37th minute. Beckham Sibiski doubled the lead early in the second half before Bloomsburg cut the deficit in half in the 59th minute. Hershey added an insurance goal after.
Penn College fell to St. Mary’s, 2-0, to drop to 3-11-4. The Wildcats were limited to seven shots on goal. Penn College recognized its seven seniors prior to the game in Tanner Layne, Alex Cassada, Colton Wartman, Dylan Snyder, Chris McFarland, Danny Jackson and Brendan Skwirut.
Alex Esterling scored the lone goal for Mansfield to tie Millersville, but the Marauders rallied with two more unanswered goals to take the contest 3-1. August Lewis made nine saves in net for the Mountaineers.
In women’s soccer, Lycoming was shut out, 6-0 to DeSales. Jess Riordan registered six saves in net for the Warriors, while Abbey Gerasimoff made four saves in relief for Lycpming.
St. Mary’s beat Penn College in a close contest, 1-0. The Seahawks scored in the 11th minute on a goal by Ella Raines.
Mansfield lost to Shepherd, 2-0. The Rams scored in the 19th and 35th minute to take a 2-0 lead into the half. Five Mounties recorded a shot on goal, led by two from freshman Katelyn Rueppel.
In college sprint football, Mansfield routed Alderson Broaddus, 62-31. The Mountaineers put up 41 first-half points to improve to 4-2 on the season.
In men’s swimming, Lycoming swept all 11 events to rout Lebanon Valley, 138-56 in team score. With the win, the Warriors open their season with two wins for the first time since 1998.
In women’s swimming, Lock Haven University fell to Kutztown, 118-72 in team score. Sol Asparria took first in the 50-yard freestyle at 26.55. Lauren Mummert secured a win in the 1,000-yard freestyle at 12:05.1, while the Bald Eagles 200-yard freestyle relay team (Madison Griffin, Kacey Berardinelli, Mummert and Asparria) won with a time of 1:50.46.
Lycoming fell to Lebanon Valley, 137-52 in team score.
At a tri-meet in women’s volleyball, Penn College fell to PSU Harrisburg (3-0) and Lancaster Bible (3-0). Sierra Yaggie had 14 digs and Cheyenne Stein had 10 assists against PSU Harrisburg.
Lock Haven’s tennis team fell in a dual match against California (Pa.), 6-1. Montoursville graduate Maddy Reeves won at No. 1 singles for the Bald Eagles, 6-1, 6-0. At No.1 doubles, Reeves and Williamsport graduate Mia Shuler teamed up to win, 6-1, over Carmen Duran and Maria Del Mar Ojeda.
