Four Lycoming College men's basketball players finished in double figures and the team used a 40-point first half to cruise to a 76-55 win over Clarks Summit in the second round of the Dutch Burch Tip-Off on Sunday evening.
Junior DeAundre Manuel led the Warriors with 14 points and four steams and junior Dyson Harward added 13 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two blocks, helping pace the Warriors (1-1 overall), who finished shooting 48 percent (31-of-64) from the floor. Senior Matt Ilodigwe posted 12 points and six assists and junior D'Andre Edmond posted 12 points and seven rebounds.
Sophomore Steven Hamilton also added eight points and three assists to go with two blocks.
Freshman guard Mya Wetzel accounted for 13 points and five rebounds to lead the Lycoming College women's basketball team as it fell to non-conference opponent Randolph-Macon College, 60-42.
Wetzel led the Warriors (0-1 overall), hitting 4-of-11 from 3-point ranger, also adding three steals and an assist. Junior Emily Zoscin also scored in double figures, posting 12 points and three rebounds, hitting 5 of 10 from the floor.
Senior Allison Wagner led in assists and rebounds with five helpers and six boards while finishing with seven points while first-years Sophie Pelton added three assists and Ashley Yoh scored six points.
The Bucknell women's soccer team used a goal-scoring resurgence to get back into the top half of the Patriot League standings, but when it came time to play for a trophy, the Bison rode their defense all the way to a championship.
Fourth-seeded Bucknell scored off a corner kick in the 75th minute en route to a 1-0 victory over top-seeded Boston University in the Patriot League championship match on Sunday at sunny Nickerson Field. It was Bucknell's fourth straight shutout and third in a row in the postseason, and the Bison captured their fifth Patriot League title.

Eight members the Penn State Nittany Lion wrestling team took part in the Clarion Open in the first open tournament of the 2021-22 season. For Penn State, the Clarion Open is the first open tournament in almost two years after last season's abbreviated campaign.

True freshman Alex Facundo rolled up six wins with three majors and two pins and placed fifth. The true freshman's only loss was a tie-breaker defeat. Classmate Brian Borden placed sixth at 165, going 6-1 as well with a pin and three majors. True freshman Lucas Cochran finished fifth at 197, posting a 6-1 record with two majors and a pin.
True freshman Shayne Van Ness began the tournament with two wins at 149. Van Ness picked up a major and a pin in just :54 before taking a medical forfeit and ending his action with a 2-0 mark. True freshman Sean Wang went 2-2 with a major at 141. True freshman Jack Kelly went 1-2 at 174. True freshman Gary Steen also competed at 125.

Leading the way for LHU was a trio of unattached wrestlers.
Connor Eck paced the effort today after taking second at 149 pounds. Competing unattached, Eck was 4-1 and his only loss came in the finals to Clarion's Brent Moore, 3-2 in a tightly-contested bout.
Competing unattached at 125 pounds, Anthony Noto placed third overall after going 4-1 on the day. Noto recorded one major and one tech fall and in the third-place bout, he edged out Joey Fischer of Clarion (UNA), 4-3.
The Lock Haven University women's wrestling team opened the 2021-22 season at the East Stroudsburg University Open and the Bald Eagles did so in style as they claimed one individual title and collected seven total placewinners.
Leading the way for coach Ronnie Perry and the Bald Eagles in the dominating season-opening effort was Jessica Johnson, who went 4-0 and won the title at 155 pounds.
Samantha Reitnour was second overall at 101 pounds.
Alayna Gil and Madison Matta placed third at 123 and 136, respectively.
