South Williamsport graduate Haley Neidig was named to the All-PSAC West team as a second-team all-star selection. The former Mounties' seven assists paced Pitt-Johnstown this year and her seven goals and 21 points were both second on the team.
She averaged 0.39 assists per game, which led the PSAC, and ranks 49th in NCAA Division II. Her seven assists also led the PSAC.
• In girls volleyball, Canton's Aislyn Williams was named the NTL Overall MVP as the all-star team was announced. North Penn-Liberty's Darby Stetter was named the Utility Player of the Year and Canton's Sheila Wesneski earned Coach of the Year honors.
On the NTL Large School first team were Wellsboro's Emma Owlett and North Penn-Liberty's Aubrey Pequignot and Saige Lehman. Wellsboro's Christina Logsdon was a second-team selection and North Penn-Liberty's Payton Chapel and Emerald Walker were also second-team selections.
Canton's Jillaney Hartford and Rachel Martin and Williamson's Riley Sargent and Adelaide Schmitt were both NTL Small School first-team selections. On the second team were Canton's Keri Wesneski and Allyson Butcher and Williamson's Grace Stephens and Taylor Rae Jones.
• In its historic first ever dual meet in school history, the Lock Haven University women's wrestling team fell just short of a win vs. East Stroudsburg, 24-23.
In the historic first ever effort, Lock Haven won five of eight bouts behind three pins and two tech falls. LHU however was forced to forfeit two bouts, ultimately costing the Bald Eagles the match. The Bald Eagles turned in an historic effort and made history tonight for LHU.
Alayna Gil, Lillian Sherer and Lacey Hums led Lock Haven tonight, recording pins at 123, 130 and 191 pounds, respectively. Sherer's impressive pin at 130 gave LHU a 14-9 lead in the team score, but the two late forfeits at 143 and 155 put the Bald Eagles in a tight situation with just two bouts left.
Madison Packer, a Central Mountain graduate, and Jessica Johnson turned in notable efforts for technical falls for Lock Haven.
• In women’s basketball, Penn College fell to Penn State Altoona, 63-46. A 20-point fourth quarter helped PSU Altoona pull away and drop the Wildcats to 0-4.
Alexis Cannistraci led PSU Altoona with a 30-point, 10-rebound double-double. Ellie Matthews also had a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Penn College was led by Loyalsock graduate Cassi Kuhns, who had a near double-double of 11 points and eight rebounds. Ja'Quela Dyer had an impressive 18 rebounds -- 13 on the defensive end -- and scored eight points.
Penn College lost to Carlow, 59-52, the night before in a game Rachel Teats scored 25 points.
• In men's basketball, King's defeated Penn College, 87-58, to drop the Wildcats to 0-3. King's had three players in double figures in Chris Patton (15 points), Noah Tanner (15) and Carmine Castiello (13).
Penn College was led by Max Jackowsky's 11 points. Corey Blackwell and Obens Luxama each added nine.
Bucknell earned its first win of the season by defeating Rider, 81-74. The Bison defense held the Broncs to 34.9% shooting. Bucknell also had three players receive career-highs in scoring in Xander Rice (23 points), Andre Screen (20) and Malachi Rhodes (11).
• Six Lycoming players named to MAC All-Sportsmanship team in men's cross country runner Max Hanson, women's cross country runner Madisyn Neal (Canton graduate), football player Cole Senior, men's soccer player Luke Jordan, women's soccer player Alicia Blizzard and volleyball player Elizabeth Kelson.
