Williamsport lost in the District 6 playoffs in girls volleyball to Central Mountain, 3-0 (25-23, 25-11, 25-20). The Millionaires were led by Caitlin Bacon’s 15 points. Myla Kelley had nine and Erika Haag added eight. Elise Berthold had a team-high 14 kills and Abby Carson added nine. Johanna Baker had 23 assists and Haag added three.
• After becoming the first Lycoming College football player to hit three field goals in a game three times in a season, sophomore Ian Plankenhorn, a Montoursville graduate, has earned his second Middle Atlantic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week award of the season.
Plankenhorn was 3 for 3 on both field goals and extra-point attempts in the Warriors' 30-27 win over Wilkes. He connected on a 33-yard field goal with two seconds left in the first half to give Lycoming a 17-7 lead, then kicked a career-long 44-yard field goal, tied for the seventh-longest in program history, in the third quarter, and finished the game off with a 20-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.
• Taking three individual events each, junior Katherine Brown and sophomore Elisa DiNicola, a Loyalsock graduate, led the Lycoming College women's swim team to their first victory of the season in a 89-53 win over Stevenson University. DiNicola took her first event of the afternoon, the 200 free with a time of 2:11.24.
• Samuel Hershey and Aitor Ruiz de Eguilaz were named the PSAC Eastern Division Athlete and Defensive Athlete of the Week.
This marks the seventh and eighth time this season that an LHU men's soccer player has been honored by the PSAC with an athlete of the week award.
LHU's two conference wins over Shepherd and East Stroudsburg helped the Bald Eagles lock up the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Division.
