The 2023 Craft Beer Marketing Awards honored 18 Pennsylvania brewing companies for their team's hard work and dedication to the marketing of their products and the individuals behind the work, according to the CBMA's website.
New Trail Brewing Co.. located at 240 Arch St., brought home six "Crushie" awards this year.
For the Bigger than Beer: Cause-related beer project or campaign category, New Trail won a Global Crushie for their Replenish IPA series which benefits Pennsylvania Parks & Forests Foundation to replenish trees.
"Replenish is a beer on a mission," Mike LaRosa, director of brewing operations and co-owner of New Trail, said in a news release. "New Trail Brewing has made a commitment to new tree growth wherever this beer is sold. One dollar from every case and a portion of kegged draft sales of Replenish IPA in Pennsylvania are being donated to the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation's fund to plant and replenish the native tree population."
"Our brand reflects our culture. We brewed Replenish IPA from the outset with the intention to dedicate support to the forests that our team and our customers appreciate," Don Rieck, New Trail Brewing Co. marketing director, said. Since the project's inception in September 2022, New Trail has donated $25,000 for reforestation, according to a news release.
Other awards won include a Gold Crushie for their Tiki Vibes Tropical Refreshers, best packaging/design for cans; Gold Crushie for their Tiki Vibes Totem & Branding, best brand identity/use of icon or mascot in logo or branding; Global Crushie for The Essentials 12-packs, best brand identity/all around marketing story; Gold Crushie for their Replenish IPA, best original video/cause-related; and a Gold Crushie for best website design.
The CBMAs were launched in 2020 and expanded internationally in 2021 receiving entries across the world in beer, hard seltzer and cider, according to the website.
Other Pennsylvania brewing companies brought home crushies in similar categories.
Hoot Design Studio, Shiloh; Allusion Brewing Company, Vandergrift; Bent Run Brewing Co., Warren; Warwick Farm Brewing, Jamison; and Ten7 Brewing Company, North Wales, all brought home awards as well, according to a news release.
