Pennsylvania College of Technology students embody baking, business skills in trade show

Pennsylvania College of Technology students in the bakery operations and product development class recently hosted a trade show in Le Jeune Chef Restaurant, according to a press release. The students each got to showcase the skills they have learned through their baking and pastry/culinary coursework.

In the bakery operations and product development class, taught by Chef Todd M. Keely, assistant professor of baking and pastry/culinary arts, students got to design a business, including marketing materials, sample menus and costing.

They also incorporated skills from the information, technology and society course to make digital displays at their trade show “booths,” according to a press release. At their tables, they had product samples and got to to interact with customers. Most of the students are in their final semester of baking and pastry arts coursework.
