Alfred J. and Lynn C. Stola, of Turbotville, are celebrating their 40th anniversary today, April 26. They were united in marriage in 1980 by Rev. Glen Hueholt and the Rev. Deacon Edward Bertollo at the First Presbyterian Church in Bloomsburg.

They are members of the St. Columba Roman Catholic Church.

The former Lynn Colleen Wilson is the daughter of Dorothy J. and the late Kenneth T. Wilson, of Bloomsburg. She graduated from Bloomsburg Area High School in 1975, received a bachelor's of science in art education from Kutztown State College in 1979 and a master's of fine arts from Bloomsburg University in 1989.

Alfred is the son of the late Alfred Sr. and Velma L. Stola, of Berwick. He graduated from Berwick Area High School in 1973, received his bachelor's of science in art education from Kutztown State College in 1977 and a master's of science in instructional technology in 1989 from Bloomsburg University.

They are both retired art teachers. Alfred spent most of his teaching career in the Montgomery Area and Sullivan County school districts. Lynn was employed for over 30 years in the East Lycoming School District teaching elementary art at the Ashkar, Ferrell, Renn and Wolf schools. She also taught one year at Bath School District in Bath, Maine.

The couple is planning a future celebration, COVID-19 permitted, by visiting the Great Lakes in the summer to rock-hunt and metal detect.
