Area veterans fly toward 50th anniversary
Cherie (Stetts) and Gary Moyer will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, January 23. They were married by the late Rev. Joseph Fox at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Bastress.
Cherie, a native of Nesbit, is the daughter of the late Frank and Honey Stetts. She graduated from South Williamsport High School in 1967 and Williamsport Hospital School of Nursing in 1970. She served four years in U.S. Air Force and retired from Williamsport Hospital in 2013 after working 30 years in the obstetrics department.
Gary, a native of Selinsgrove, is the son of the late Marvin and Hazel Moyer. He graduated from Selinsgrove High School in 1967. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force, owned and operated Moyer Insurance Agency in South Williamsport for 24 years and is currently a real estate agent for Berkshire Hodrick Realty.
They are the parents of Michael (Jamie) of Ellicott City, Maryland; Grant (Connie) of College Grove, Tennessee; Mark (Erin) of Baltimore, Maryland; and Sara (Brook) Buxton of Portland, Oregon. They have 11 grandchildren.
