Mr. and Mrs. Michael C. Karney of South Williamsport will celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary on May 1. They were married by the Rev. James Jacobs at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in South Williamsport.
Mrs. Karney, the former Jane L. Ritter is daughter of the late John and Helen Ritter. She graduated from South Williamsport High School in 1974 and Lycoming College in 1978. She is currently employed by Woodlands Bank as the human resources manager.
Mr. Karney is the son of the late Margaret Eck and Charles Karney. He graduated from South Williamsport High School in 1971 and Williamsport Area Community College, now Pennsylvaina College of Technology, in 1973. He is currently employed by the Williamsport Municipal Water and Sanitary Authority as the assistant superintendent of the Central Plant.
They are the parents of Erik (Heather) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Malissa (Chris) of South Williamsport; and Ryan (Kaitlyn) of Springboro, Ohio. They have four grandchildren: two granddaughters and two grandsons.
