Couple celebrating 60 years together

Mr. and Mrs. Leonard L. Alansky, Montoursville, will observe their 60th wedding anniversary on Sept. 23, 2021. They were married by the Rev. Louis Garbacik at St. Mary of the Maternity Catholic Church in Wilkes Barre. They are members of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Montoursville.

Mrs. Alansky, the former Bette Kulak, is a native of Wilkes Barre. She is the daughter of the late Helen and Frank Kulak. She has been a volunteer for more than 40 years with the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army Thrift Store.

Mr. Alansky, a native of Wilkes Barre, is the son of the late Helen and Anthony Alansky. He served in the Army and retired after 30 years as a State Trooper, stationed in Montoursville.

They are the parents of daughter Deb (Vern) Poplaski, Mechanicsburg and a son Len Jr (Beth) of Downingtown. There are six grandchildren Alyssa (Mike) McIntyre, Mike (Kyra) Poplaski, Tyler Alansky, Drew Alansky, Luke Alansky and Brett Alansky. They have two great grandchildren, Madison and Brady McIntyre.

In honor of their anniversary and Bette’s 90th birthday on Sept. 22, a family dinner was hosted by their children in Harrisburg.
