This amazing couple fit so much adventure, creativity, and love in their 70 years of marriage. They became college educated, married in 1951, had two children, Larry and Julie, and spent their professional careers in the services, education for Joanne and employment for Donald.
Then they bought the farm, and the real fun began. They had a vision and they spent years transforming an aged property into a beautiful paradise, giving it a new life. They have an interest in self-subsistence. So, over the years they built a pond, raised trout, raised poultry, raised bees, had Texas Longhorns, tapped sugar maples, made apple cider, raised vegetables, flowers, and gourds, cut wood for their stove, hunted, and fished. Their pride and joy is Daffodil Hill, a blanket of yellow flowers they enjoy in the springtime from their picture window. That same window provides views of many kinds of wildlife throughout the year.
Joanne and Donald have had many travel adventures. They have fond memories of the far north where they saw polar bears, the Northern Lights, whales, and productive fishing rivers. They've always searched out the beauty of our country's natural wonders.
Donald and Joanne are a warm, welcoming couple who created a home where family, friends, and neighbors love to return.
