Donna Rae (Fetter) and James E. Martin Jr. of Williamsport will observe their 45th wedding anniversary March 12, 2022.
The Martins met in 1972 while working at the American Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan. Mrs. Martin was a Foreign Service secretary, and Mr. Martin was a Navy Seabee also employed by the Foreign Service.
Their next assignment was in Saigon, Vietnam, during the Vietnam War. After returning to the U.S., they married in McLean, Virginia. As husband and wife, they traveled to embassies in Lagos, Nigeria; New Delhi, India; and Jakarta, Indonesia, and retired in 1988.
They are members of the St. Luke Lutheran Church in Williamsport.
