Jim and Fran Lape, of Avis, celebrated 50 years of marriage on April 29, 2022.
They were married on April 29, 1972, by Pastor Dick Bailey at Faith Tabernacle, Williamsport.
Fran, the former Frances Linda Fieden, is the daughter of the late Frank Fieden and Anna Corle of Philadelphia. She graduated from Williamsport High School and is a small business owner.
Jim is the son of the late Monroe and Margaret Lape of Williamsport. Jim is retired from the U.S. Army Reserves, and he retired as a boiler mechanic from Kvaerner Pulping in 2003.
Together, they have three children: Shawn (Shannon) Lape, Tammi (Greg) Powers and Tim (Heather) Lape. There are five grandchildren: Eli and Jordyn Powers, Devin and Dakota Lape, and Aiden Lape.
