Couple celebrates golden anniversary

Mr. And Mrs. Larry A. Willits Sr. are observing their golden 50th anniversary May 26, 2022.

They were married in the Kenmore Methodist Church by pastor Rev. Hurley.

Mrs. Willits, the former Virginia (Ginny) Dawn Long, is a native of Williamsport. She is the daughter of the late Edward and Loretta Holcombe and of the late Clyde Fredrick Long. She attended the Loyalsock High School, where she went on to earn her GED.

Mr. Willits is a native of Jersey Shore. He is the son of the late Harry and Mae Willits. He graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1956, and he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1960 and was stationed in Little Rock, AR with the 384th Bomb Wing Division. He also retired from Textron Lycoming in 1998 where he was a lead man in the Testing Dept.

They together have a son, Larry (Cheri) Willits Jr. of Williamsport. Mr. Willits also has two daughters, the late Karen Rounsavall and Kelli (Tim) Hornsbee of Houston, Texas. Mrs. Willits also has two daughters, Kimberly (Ricky Ray) Inman of Timberlake, N.C. and Ginny (Jim) Forestal of Warrensville.

They are the grandparents to six grandsons and six granddaughters, as well as six great-grandsons and seven great-granddaughters.

Larry and Ginny, on their 25th wedding anniversary, renewed their vows in front of God and their close family and friends in their home. Pastor Craig Zimmerman officiated the ceremony.

In honor of their golden anniversary, a celebration dinner by Larry Jr., Kim and Ginny and friends was held at Texas Roadhouse, Williamsport.
