Montoursville couple sees 50 years

Congratulations to Phil and Yvonne Marchioni, of Elm Street in Montoursville, on 50 years of marriage this year on June 3, 2022.

The couple was married on June 3, 1972, at the Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church in Williamsport by Rev. Alphonosus Manley and Rev. Francis Costellano. Both graduated in 1968 from the Williamsport Area High School.

Yvonne, the daughter of Elwood and Beverly Gottschall of Williamsport, graduated in 1971 from the Allentown Hospital School of Nursing. She obtained a bachelor's degree from the University of St. Joseph in Joliet, Illinois. She was an RN for 36 years between the Divine Providence Hospital in Williamsport and the Williamsport Hospital. She was a certified Operating Room Nurse. She retired in 2007 from the Susquehanna Health System.

Phil, the son of Phil and Lillian Marchioni of Williamsport, graduated from Mansfield University with a bachelor's degree in music education. He taught in the Bellefonte Area School District for five years. He attended Penn State University where he received his permanent teaching certification. He was a professional performing musician, did studio work, taught instrumental music lessons and was a piano tuner and technician as a sole proprietor of Phil's Piano Service. He retired in January 2020.

They are the parents of two sons, Phillip Jason (Laurie) of Montoursville and Elliott John (Lindsey) of Fletcher, N.C. They have five grandchildren: Alexis Julia, Allyse Nicole and Alaina Sophia Marchioni of Phillip and Laurie; Vincent Paul and Elliot Faye Narchioni of Elliott and Lindsey.
