Arnot couple celebrates 67 years
Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Kirkendall of Arnot observed their 67th wedding anniversary on June 25, 2022. They eloped in 1955 and were married by the late Rev. Clyde Truas in Elmira Heights, N.Y. Thirty years later on their anniervasry, they renewed their vows, assisted by the late Rev. Robert Miller of Liberty. They are long-time members of the Arnot Presbyterian Church, now the Arnot Community Church, where they have been very active.
Mrs. Kirkendall, the former Lois Bellinger, is a native of Blossburg. Lois is the daughter of the late Harold and Marian Ogden Bellinger. She graduated from Blossburg High School in 1953 and retired from Liberty Lingerie in 1995.
Delmer is a native of Barton, N.Y. He is the son of the late Luther and Edith Wilson Kirkendall. He attended Liberty High School and served in the 25th Division 725th Ordinance Battalion of the Army. Delmer and his wife spent his last year in the Army together in Hawaii. He retired from Ward Manufacturing in 1996.
They are the parents of a daughter, the late Cheryl Roan, of Librerty. Thye have four grandchildren: Christian. Casey, Katie and Kendrea. The grandchildren hosted a surprise Hawaiian decorated anniversary celebration for Delmer and Lois last year. There are four step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.
