Williamsport couple observes 60th wedding anniversary

H. Richard (Dick) and Doris I. Free of Williamsport celebrated 60 years of marriage. They were married on June 23, 1962, at Trinity Evangelical United Brethren Church by Rev. George Hummer.

Dick is the son of the late Harry and Fern Free. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired from Lonza Inc. after 36 years of employment.

Doris is the former Doris I. Ludwig, the daughter of the late LaVerne and Edna Ludwig. She is employed by American Greetings and Rite-Aid.

They are the parents of Diane (Thomas) Lilley, of Williamsport; Donald (Jennifer) Free, of Loyalsock; and Darlene (Clark) Hakes, of Montgomery.

They have six grandchildren: Joshua and Heather Lilley, Michaela and Breanna Free and Matthew and Megan Lewis. They have three great-grandchildren: Maya Lilley and Lily and Niko Lewis.

They are members of St. Paul Calvary United Methodist Church and Amen Train Camping Group.

Their anniversary was celebrated with family.
