Kent and Clara Bennett are celebrating their 40th anniversary on April 30, 2023. They were married by Pastor John Bergstrom at Trinity United Methodist Church in Williamsport in 1983.
Formerly Clara Greenabaum, she spent 21 years as an insurance agent in sales and service with American General, then 28 years in insurance specializing in Medicare with her husband, retiring in 2021. She also managed rental properties for over 20 years. She serves on the board of Son Light House in Muncy and formerly served as treasurer.
Kent started his insurance career with American General in 1974, then formed his own independent agency in 1983. In 2000, he became a financial adviser, specializing in assisting seniors preserve savings and assets. Kent spent over 20 years as a volunteer for NAIFA on both state and national committees for political action and involvement. Since 2015, he has served on the Board of Advisors for the Salvation Army in Williamsport.
The Bennetts have three daughters, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, as well as a special canine companion, Bessie. They enjoy traveling, including cruises. They are celebrating their anniversary with a week on the island of Curacao.
