Russell H. and Betty J (Brion) Beck celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary on June 27. Born and raised in Liberty, Russell (93) and Betty (92) were high school sweethearts. After graduating from Liberty High School, they were married on June 27, 1948 at the Liberty Lutheran Church. They raised six children, Linda, Cindy, Rusty, Ashley, Craig and Jeff.

Betty spent her days as a homemaker while Russell had a variety of jobs before driving trucks for 16 years. Russell and Betty moved south to Florida in 1982. The couple then moved to South Georgia to be close to their youngest son, where they spent 23 years. As fate would have it, the couple returned to the Liberty area in April of this year, residing in Steam Valley with their daughter, Cindy.

An open house to honor Russell and Betty will be held at Cindy’s house on Sunday, June 25th from 1 to 5 p.m. Friends and family are welcome.
