Dick and Della Mae Carothers, of Williamsport, celebrated 65 years of marriage on June 28. The two got married in Salladasburg and it was officiated by Rev. Mays. The two are members of St. John's-newberry United Methodist Church in Williamsport.
Della Mae (Hillyard) Carothers was born in Jersey Shore, the daughter of the late Harold and Edith Hillyard. She graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1957.
Dick Carothers was born in Williamsport, the son of the late Leroy and Catherine Carothers. He graduated from Williamsport High School in 1953. He is also an Army veteran. Dick retired from Lonza Inc., located at 3500 Trenton Ave. in Williamsport.
The two have two sons, Mark Carothers, of Williamsport, and Brad Carothers, and Winter Park, Colo. They have three grandchildren.
