Kenneth Matthew and Faith Elaine Willits Negvesky, of 309 Jerome Ave. Williamsport, will be celebrating 50 years of marriage and ministry on July 22 at a dinner at City Church, 36 E. 4th St, where they are active members. Numerous family and friends will join in their celebration, culminating with an evening dessert cruise on the Hiawatha Riverboat.
Kenneth, son of the late Stanley and Mary Negvesky, grew up in Peckville, Lackawanna County. Faith Elaine, daughter of the late Clyde and Betty Willits, grew up on a farm in Cogan Station. Both are 1970 high school graduates--Ken from Valley View, Blakely, PA, and Faith from Jersey Shore. Ken and Faith met while students at Zion Bible Institute (now Northpoint College, Haverhill, MA) in East Providence, RI.
The Negveskys were married July 21, 1973, at the Quiggleville United Methodist Church. Since that summer, Ken has served in pastoral leadership at First Assembly of God in Elizabeth, NJ, Bellwood Assembly of God in Bellwood, PA, and Covenant Love Community Church & School in Freeville, NY. Ken and Faith currently work with the GoStrategic ministry, Santa Rosa, CA, serving as Directors of Facilitation for their two online schools and partnering with The Bridge International.
The couple have been blessed with daughters Havilah Joy Ferrer of Dryden, NY and Cora Marie Negvesky-Hunter (Patrick), of Lansing, NY, son Titus John Negvesky (Candace) of Owasso, OK; 6 grandchildren: Elizabeth, Ericka and Luisa Ferrer, Jermaine Fisher, Sahara and Ria Hunter; and, a great-granddaughter (Ava Ferrer).
The couple have called Williamsport their home since October, 2021.
