Couple celebrates 50 years

Mark and Roberta Updegraff will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends at Genetti Hotel on December 30th. They honeymooned in the Poconos but will head to their home in Eleuthera, Bahamas, after the party this year.

The couple owns a trucking company in Williamsport, which they have operated for 46 years. Roberta also taught in the Williamsport Area School District for over 30 years. She was a freelance writer for the Presbyterian Church USA and other publications.

Roberta is the daughter of the late Robert and Betty O'Dwyer Blair.

Mark is the son of the late Clair and Evelyn Taylor Updegraff. He graduated from South Williamsport High School and Williamsport Area Community College (Service and Operation of Heavy Equipment).

Mark and Roberta share a passion for a small orphanage in Honduras. They help provide university and vocational school scholarships for young adults leaving the orphanage.

The party will be hosted by their children, Mark Claire Updegraff and wife, Maria Fagnano, and their children, Luke, Everly, and Viviane. Along with Sarah Updegraff, her husband, David Andrew, and her children, Aiven and Ami. And Kathryn Krejci, Kevin Krejci, and children Loen, Adelyn, and Ebba.
