Mr. and Mrs. James (Bill) W. Shifflet will observe their 72nd wedding anniversary January 21, 2024. They were married by the Rev. George Davidson in Hepburn Baptist Church, Cogan Station.
Mrs. Shifflet, the former Vera M. Vollman, is a native of Cogan Station and the daughter of the late Alfred and Mildred Vollman. She is a graduate of Williamsport High School.
Mr. Shifflet, a native of Cogan Station, is the son of the late Walter and Annie Shifflet. He is a graduate of Williamsport High School and served in the Navy during the Korean War. He is retired from Lonza.
They are the parents of two sons, James R. (Christine) and Daniel L. (Jackie) both of Williamsport. They have four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.
They will celebrate with a family dinner.
