Ron and Linda Smith, of South Williamsport are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on April 27, 2024. They were married by Rev. Charles Moyer at Christ United Methodist Church, South Williamsport.
Linda, a native of South Williamsport is the daughter of the late Donna and Ray Blanchard. She graduated from South Williamsport Area High School in 1971 and is employed as a secretary at Redeemer Lutheran Church and is retired from the Borough of South Williamsport.
Ron, a native of South Williamsport, is the son of the late Doris and Charles Smith. He graduated from South Williamsport Area High School in 1969 and the former Williamsport Area Community College, now Penn College, in 1971. He was employed by IBM for 20 years and is now retired from Little League International as a programmer analyst.
They are the parents of a son, Scott (Katherine) of Bloomington, Illinois, and daughters Stephanie (Curtis) Fay, of South Williamsport and Shelly (Ryan) Bailey of Williamsport. They have 6 grandchildren, Shane, Sam, Benjamin, Declan, Molly and Maddie.
In honor of their anniversary, a trip to St. Pete Beach is planned, then a renewal of vows and a celebration hosted by their children will be held with family and friends on the Hiawatha Paddlewheel Riverboat this summer.
