Liana (D'Alena) and Albert J Shurer observed their 60th wedding anniversary September 19, 2024. They were married by Reverend Alphonsus Manley at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church.
Mrs. Shurer, a native of Campodimele, Italy, is the daughter of the late Angela and Pierino D'Alena. She retired from Wundies Inc. Mr. Shurer, a native of Bastress, is the son of the late Loretta and Albert E Shurer. He attended Jersey Shore Area High School and served in the U.S. Army for three years. He retired from the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation now Wyrope Inc.
They are the parents of three daughters, Angie Springman (Dana) of South Williamsport, Ann Miller (Steve) of Collomsville, and Debbie Schall (Steve) of Bastress, and a son, Mike (Dana) of Williamsport. There are seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
In honor of their anniversary, a cruise on the Hiawatha Paddlewheel Riverboat is planned for October.
