Couple reaches 65 years
Mr. and Mrs. Anthony LaRose Jr. of Muncy will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Sept. 12. They were married at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Sheppton on Sept. 12, 1959. Mr. LaRose retired from PP&L after 37 years of service and Mrs. LaRose retired from Construction Specialties after 20 years of service.
Mrs. LaRose is the former Amelia (Amy) Pastorella, daughter of John and Lucy Pastorella, former owners of the Montfort restaurant in Sheppton, and Mr. LaRose is the son of Josephine and Anthony LaRose Sr. of Hazleton.
They are the parents of four children and have 10 grandchildren. Son Anthony (Marcy) parents of Eric (Allyson) and Kara; Son John (deceased) (Carla) parents of Joseph, Angelina, and Dominic, and Ben Otterbein (Kate), Son Joseph (Renee) parents of Gina (Chris Gnall) and Samantha, and daughter Lucy, parent of Nicholas and Maria Paternostro.
The couple had season tickets to Penn State football games for many years and spent many happy weekends tailgating with family and friends, and especially loved following the Penn State Blue Band, which their oldest son was a part of for four years. The tradition continues with a granddaughter now a proud member of the Blue Band.
Tony and Amy will be honored at a family dinner and plan to spend some time in Florida during the winter season.
