Joan (Thompson) and Clarence “Hank” Knaus, of Montoursville, will observe their 70th wedding anniversary Jan. 29, 2025.

They were married in 1955 by the Rev. Lynn Crowding at Pine Street United Methodist Church, Williamsport.

Mrs. Knaus, a native of Milton, is the daughter of the late Grace and Leonard Thompson of Williamsport. She graduated from Williamsport High School in 1952 and from Lycoming College in 1954.

Mr. Knaus, a native of Wellsboro, is the son of the late Marian and Clarence Knaus. He graduated from Wellsboro High School in 1948, and then Lycoming College after returning from service in the Army and being stationed in Kobe, Japan, during the Korean conflict.

They have three children, six grandchildren and one great grandchild. A family celebration is planned.
