Couple celebrates 50 years of marriage
Stanley and Cindy Lisowski of 3150 Cherry Flats Road, Covington, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on May 1.
They were married by Reverend Bernard Toloczko at Annunciation Church, Williamsport.
Cindy is the daughter of the late Thomas O. Miller and Carol A. Weisenburger. Stanley is the son of the late Joseph and Barbara Lisowski. The couple have two sons: Joseph T. Lisowski (Renee) of Centre Hall, and Mathew W. Lisowski (Tonya) of Wellsboro. They have 4 grandchildren: Brayden, Alivia, Evan, and Owen Lisowski.
Stanley retired with 43 years at Ward Manufacturing where he was a maintenance manager. Cindy, a high school English teacher and school librarian for 22 years, retired from Southern Tioga School District.
They will have an anniversary blessing in Saint Peter’s Church, Wellsboro, and will celebrate with a family dinner. The couple’s sons will also celebrate their 20th wedding anniversaries in July and August.
Wedding memories include that the reverend got lost trying to find the Annunciation Church. Cindy’s brother Todd, the ringbearer, had chicken pox on that day. Cindy’s father and mother learned how to make Polish food like golumpki and kielbasa for the reception.
