Linden couple reaches 50-year mark
Daniel L. and Jean M. Hunter of Level Corner, Linden celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 22, 2026.
They were married by Jean’s brother, Dr. Paul Jacobs, at Castanea United Methodist Church. A reception followed in the beautiful backyard garden of Daniel’s parents.
Jean is the daughter of the late Glenn and Lois Jacobs of Castanea. Daniel is the son of the late Eugene and Jennie Hunter of Dunnstown. The couple has three sons: Rev. Ignatius Edward (Seraphima) of State College, David (Jacqueline) of Hatfield, and Alex (Courtney) of Mill Hall. They are the proud Oma and Opa to 8 grandchildren: Ella, Daniel, Lily, Elizabeth, Theodora, Kate, Matthew, and Nate.
Daniel retired after 35 years of teaching French and German. He began his teaching career in 1974 at Curtin Jr. High (Williamsport), taught many years at Bald Eagle Nittany High School (Mill Hall) and retired from Jersey Shore Area High School. Jean retired from the Williamsport Hospital where she worked as a medical technologist before and after raising their three children.
The couple will be celebrated by family and friends with a luncheon at Pine Run Bible Church (Linden) where they attend regularly.
