Montoursville couple celebrates 55 years

Mr. and Mrs. Timothy S. Shannon, of Montoursville, will observe their 55th wedding anniversary on May 23.

They were married by the Rev. Walter Schell at Faith United Methodist Church, Montoursville.

Mrs. Shannon, the former Shirley Ellen Schultz, is a native of Rochester, New York. She is the daughter of the late Maurice and Eleanor Schultz, of Montoursville. She graduated from Montoursville High School in 1968, the former Lock Haven State College, now university, in 1973 and received a master’s degree in education from Bloomsburg University. She retired from Montoursville Area School District, C.E. McCall Middle School after 34 years of teaching.

Mr. Shannon, a native of Montoursville, is the son of the late Evelyn S. Shannon, of Montoursville. He graduated from Montoursville High School in 1968, Lock Haven State College in 1972 and received a master’s equivalency in education from Penn State University. He retired from Montoursville Area School District, Montoursville Area High School, after 34 years as a teacher and coach.

They are the parents of two sons, Timothy B. of Summit, New Jersey, and Michael S., of Yardley and grandparents to Rhys, Ava, Emma, Kerrick, Casey and Caitlyn Shannon.
