Carol E. (Southard) and Dr. Thomas E. Farina, of Hughesville, observed their 60th wedding anniversary July 16, 2026.
They were married in St. Patrick's Church in Ravena, New York. They attend Community Baptist Church in Montoursville.
Mrs. Farina, a native of Fair Haven, Vermont, graduated from Fair Haven HS in 1962 and received her Registered Nurse degree from the Albany (NY) Medical Center School of Nursery in 1966. She worked at Williamsport Hospital from 1980-90, where she was the first "Medical Employee of the Year" in 1985, and then at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Flemington, New Jersey, for 11 years, before retiring and returning to the Hughesville area in 2001.
Dr. Farina, a native of the Albany, New York area, received a BS in Chemistry from Siena College, Loudonville, New York, in 1964 and a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1970. He completed his career and retired (2003) from the Research facilities of the Glyco Chemicals/Lonza organizations (Williamsport and Clinton, New Jersey) after 25 years of service.
They are the proud parents of two sons–Kevin J., Shelbyville, Kentucky and Michael T., Lititz. There are two granddaughters (Drew and Grace) and one grandson (Josh).
The occasion will be celebrated with family at the Primavera Italian restaurant in Lewisburg.
