Couple celebrates 65 years

Mr. and Mrs. Leonard L. Alansky, Montoursville will observe their 65th wedding anniversary on Sept 23, 2026. They were married at St Mary of the Maternity Catholic Church in Wilkes Barre. They are members of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Montoursville.

Mrs. Alansky, the former Bette Kulak, is a native of Wilkes Barre. She was a volunteer for many years with the American Red Cross and Salvation Army Thrift Store. Many people also knew her as the lady who walked up and down Rt 87.

Mr. Alansky, also a native of Wilkes Barre. He served in the Army and retired as a PA State trooper, stationed in Montoursville. He was also a baseball and softball umpire for many years, through all levels, from Little League to College.

They are the parents of daughter, Deb Poplaski, Mechanicsburg and a son Len, Jr (Beth) of Downingtown. There are six grandchildren Alyssa (Mike) McIntyre, Mike (Kyra) Poplaski, Tyler (Erin) Alansky, Drew Alansky, Luke Alansky and Brett Alansky. There are four great children, Madison and Brady McIntyre, Lindsey and Ryan Poplaski
