Montoursville native to wed in Ireland
Elizabeth Long and Brad Mathers, of Atlanta, Ga., have announced their engagement. They plan to having a wedding in spring of 2020 in Dublin, Ireland.
Long is the daughter of Kevin Long, of Boca Raton, Fla., and Helen Long, of Johns Creek, Ga. She graduated from Marjory Stoman Douglas High School, Parkland, Fla., in 2003, received a bachelor of health science in pre-medicine from the University of Florida and a masters in medical science and physician assistant from Mercer College of Medicine in 2011. She is employed at Kaiser Permanente as a cardiology physician assistant in Atlanta, Ga.
Mathers is the son of Dan and Dottie Mathers, of Montoursville. He graduated from Montoursville High School in 2004 and received a bachelor of science in pre-medicine from Pennsylvania State University in 2008, and a doctorate of medicine and internal medicine residency in 2012 and 2016. He will graduate from Gastroenterology Fellowship Program at Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, Ga., in June 2019. He works at Emory University as a Gastroenterology Fellow.
The couple will relocate to York, Pa., in July 2019 where Mathers has accepted a position as a gastroenterologist for Wellspan York Hospital. Long also will continue working as a physician assistant.
