W.B. Konkle Library to move to temporary location
The W.B. Konkle Memorial Library in Montoursville will close Aug. 8 to move to a temporary location for renovations.
The library plans to re-open Aug. 15 at 17 Pierce Lane, Montoursville, according to a news release. If the moving process takes less time, the library will re-open sooner.
A total “refresh” is planned for the W.B. Konkle Library building at 384 Broad St.: new furniture, efficiency lighting and new heating/cooling equipment will transform the facility, according to the news release.
The temporary Pierce Lane site is expected to last through Nov. 27, but if construction moves faster, the library will re-open at the Broad Street location sooner.
The library’s website, www.konklelibrary.org, and social media at https://www.facebook.com/konklelibrary will update the community as things progress.
Books and DVDs for patrons will still be offered in a limited capacity, according to the news release. Some materials will be stored during the renovation period and will not be available to borrow.
Other services, such as interlibrary loans, will still be available for pickup or drop-off at the temporary location. Computer and faxing access will be cut back.
