Cub Scouts visit new W. B. Konkle Memorial Library

Montoursville's Cub Scout Pack #21 and their families got an early preview of the newly renovated Konkle Library on Broad Street with a full tour and presentation. Cub Scout Pack #21 was looking to provide the scouts with the opportunity to visit the library and highlight the value of the library as a historic, community resource. Many of the scouts routinely use the library and have been anxiously awaiting to see what was happening to their library.
The scouts were full of questions about the process for the renovation and where can they find their favorite books. They had an opportunity to explore the renovation and experience the new configuration. Perhaps their most pressing question was whether the bank vault, that was as present in the original People's Bank, was still part of the current building. They were assured that yes, the old vault from the original bank is still intact, as it's a historical piece of the building that dates to 1920's.
"We've been excited to bring the Montoursville scouts to the library as an outing and provide another scouting experience," said Christopher Knipe, volunteer cub master.
A public open house will be held on April 15. Watch the website and Facebook page for upcoming information and for all the details: www.konklelibrary.org.
