Library offers new service

3 min read

The James V. Brown Library, 19 E. Fourth St., has announced that the hoopla service will offer "Bonus Borrows" that are available for the last seven days of each month, starting in March.

Patrons can choose from a selection of TV shows, movies, comics and manga, eBooks, and audiobooks without using their monthly borrows. Hoopla provides patrons in the Library's Service Area (Williamsport, South Williamsport and Loyalsock Township) with access to an instant collection of over a million titles. With Bonus Borrows, users can enjoy hoopla all month long, even if they're running low on borrows.

"This new option from Hoopla is an exciting way to show our community how they can integrate streaming from the library into their work and play," said Kate Shaw, Collections, Technical Services, and IT Director.

Hoopla is available via the Apple App Store, Google Play, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. To access it, visit hoopladigital.com or via the library's website and select "Online Resources," then "Resources for Adults'' under Digital Resources and then click the hoopla image.

Hoopla is the digital service of Midwest Tape, a leading provider of entertainment media products and services: DVDs, CDs, audiobooks and shelf-ready solutions, to public libraries across North America for over a quarter of a century. Its purpose has always been to partner with libraries in delivering the best content to patrons in the most streamlined manner possible.

The James V. Brown Library, along with libraries everywhere, continues to adapt and expand services to meet the evolving community needs. To sign up for a library card or to learn more about the library's resources and programs, visit jvbrown.edu.
