The Kettle Creek Valley Outdoor and Craft Show will be held between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. April 13 at the Kettle Creek Hose Company in Cross Fork.
According to a news release, a variety of local craft and outdoor related vendors and non-profits will be represented.
The Bureau of Forestry will have an information trailer to give out information about all the recreational activities available on State Forest lands. Quiet Oaks Campground is a rental agent for Polaris Razor ATV's and they will be displaying some of the ATV's they have available for rental.
A series of 30-minute talks will begin at 10 a.m. with Matt Schenck, Environmental Education Specialist for Sinnemahoning State Park. Schenck will be talking about the PA Bird Atlas project that will run for the next five years.
"It is a chance for folks to contribute to a large-scale citizen science project and assist with the data collection process in an effort to quantify the state's breeding and winter bird populations," the news release said.
He will be followed at 11 a.m. by Susan Schenck, Environmental Education Specialist at Cherry Springs State Park who will give a program on stargazing opportunities at Cherry Springs. At noon, Cody Whipple, an Environmental Education Specialist with the Bureau of Forestry for Tioga and Susquehannock State Forests, will be doing a presentation on the ATV pilot program, where to ride, how to ride safely and on other recreational opportunities in the State Forest.
Some of the local organizations that will be present are the Cross Fork and Kettle Creek Tamarack Sportsman's groups, Kettle Creek Fire Company, Kettle Creek Music Festival, Potter County Conservation District, the Susquehannock Trail Club and the Greater Renovo Heritage Park Association. Bureau of State Parks will have folks available. Vendors will feature handmade items and artwork, maple products, self-protection items, fishing and hunting related items, information on real estate opportunities and home improvement. Cutting Edge Designs will be doing laser engraving and will have a variety of handmade items including Top Call products.
According to the news release, all proceeds from the show go to the Kettle Creek Hose Company and the Kettle Creek Ambulance Association.
