Museum plans bus trip to NYC

The Thomas T. Taber Museum of the Lycoming County Historical Society is sponsoring a bus trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City, on June 14.

According to a news release, the trip is to view "two spectacular exhibits, Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion and Collecting Inspiration: Edward C. Moore at Tiffany and Co."

The bus will depart the Burger King parking lot at Maynard Street, Williamsport, at 5:30 a.m. and arrive in NYC at about 10 a.m. The bus will leave New York City at 6 p.m. and return to Williamsport at about 10 p.m.

"Sleeping Beauties highlights textile treasures from the museum's collection and includes 250 garments and accessories and spans four centuries of textiles," the news release said. "Collecting Inspiration highlights the creative force of Mr. Moore at Tiffany & Co. during the second half of the 19th century. It includes 180 items from Mr. Moore's personal collection as well as 70 silver objects created at Tiffany & Co. under his direction."
