Junior League announces leadership

As the Junior League of Williamsport prepares to close on the 95th anniversary of the organization, the members recently announced the newly elected board of directors and incoming committee chairs for the 2024-25 League year, according to a news release.

Executive board members include President Amanda Steinbacher, President-elect Melissa Kelley, Vice President of Community Brittany Fischer, Treasurer Laura Beauchesne and Secretary Deanna Dockey.

Committee Chairs include New Member Committee Co-Chairs Patricia Confer and Michele Boyles, Membership Engagement Co-Chairs Rose Thomas-Sarno and Jolinda Chamberlin, Fund Development Committee Co-Chairs Vanessa Slaughter and Amanda Phillips, Community Committee Co-Chairs Brittany Fischer and Lili Crum, Marketing Committee Chair Lindsay Crist and Nominating Chair Michele Boyles

During its 95th Anniversary year, the Junior League of Williamsport began CodeRed.Period, an initiative to help alleviate period poverty among young women in the Williamsport and Montoursville School Districts, including St. John Neumann Regional Academy, by providing free and easily accessible period products to the districts' middle school and high school girls," the news release said.

Founded in 1929 by 12 women, The Junior League of Williamsport is a group of women who have a commitment to community service, are interested making new friends, and most importantly, an interest in developing her potential for voluntary community participation.

"Our mission is to advance women's leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training," the news release said. "Our vision is that the Junior League of Williamsport is a resource and advocate committed to improving the quality of life for children and their families."
